Week 107

So we had another baptism this week!!! It was really tough working though, since Carnaval has started here in Cape Verde, and Mindelo is known to be the most iniquitous city in this country, so it gets pretty wild. For the past 3 days it's been super hard finding people to teach since everyone is parting. But the final and worst day of them all will be tomorrow, and then we can get back to working normally. We were going to have another baptism, but he partied all night long and was too tired to go to church the next day -.-'
Also, on Friday I will be at my final Zone Conference, where I will bear my final testimony in front of the zone, it's so weird knowing that it's my turn to go up there when I saw so many of my friends do it before me. Elder Romano is home!! He had a tooth infection and needed surgery, so he actually went home like 3 days ago.
I will be traveling on Sunday to Praia and spending my last few hours there, since I need my final interview with Pres Mathews. I'll probably email, but not for long.

Week 106

Blog material from P-Day emails is pretty much non-existent now:

"And yes, there's a lot of American stuff I wanna do; mostly eat, watch movies, and get a girlfriend. But I think the girlfriend one I'll do on my own some other day. And freak, I forgot about the homecoming talk, it's gonna suck speaking Spanish again."

Week 105

I'M FLYING FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm way excited about the flight plans coming in and stuff, but I am NOT looking forward to how long it's gonna take -.-'

I don't think I ever sent these pictures, but it's me and Mcmullin reuniting at the Christmas party, and then me and all the Latinos in the Praia and Assomada zones haha.

Week 104

Hey! First of all I'm sorry about not wanting to email last week. I didn't mean to sound like a jerk, I was just having a rough day, and to be honest I had one of the roughest weeks of my mission this past week. But I decided that I don't want to be mad or sad about it, I want to finish my mission on a good note. Elder Dos Anjos and I actually argued a lot this past week, man I have never bumped heads with someone in such little time, but we were able to talk it out and we're all good now.
One another note, you guys should be getting some travel info soon because I got a phone call asking me about the certificate (like the one that says I served honorably for 2 years), if I wanted it in English or Portuguese, I chose Portuguese.
So guess who is still active after 2 years?? I walked over to Fernando Po to find someone, and it turns out he found me first. Helder saw me from like 20 feet away and ran to me and gave me the biggest hug ever haha. Man we were happy to see each other, seeing him almost made me cry. When he was a recent convert I was trying to get him a calling, but the members said he wouldn't be able to teach or anything like that. But he has been distributing and collecting hymn books for the past 2 years and he's really happy with his calling. The lady's name is Gilda, she was the one who gave us Helder as a reference.

Week 102

Guess what happened?? I'M IN MINDELO!!!! Emergency transfer!!! It's kind of a bittersweet feeling, I'm excited to come back to this island, but I had like 4 baptisms scheduled for Achadinha during January, so that made me sad. So now I'm serving with Elder Gervais, he's in his 4th transfer, but I'll only be with him one more week and then he'll be transferred out of here. The area I'm in is right next to the first area I served at, it's called Fonte Frances.
