Week 98

I don't have much to say this week. Praia is awesome, monkeys are cool, baptisms are the best, and it's dope having other missionaries always pretty close by!
I only have 10 weeks left! It's super hard not to get trunky. Praia is way different from Assomada, there are so many people here that are always home and willing to talk, it's not hard at all finding new investigators or teaching lessons, but there are a ton of parties and stuff kinda like in Mindelo. I believe there are 16 duplas (missionary companionships) all around the city.
My comp is awesome, we get along great, but we are way different. He absolutely loves like church activities back home like EFY and stuff, and well... I didn't lol.

Week 68

[VERY SHORT EMAIL BECAUSE HE JUST SKYPED HOME YESTERDAY]

Lol, energizer bunny? I'm not gonna lie, that's a pretty accurate way to describe him [his companion, Elder Barros] lol. He works nonstop all day, but I love him. I had trouble keeping up the first week but now I'm used to it and I love coming home tired.
I'm the senior companion, but I see Elder Barros as a future leader, he is humble, unlike some other missionaries.
I do miss home a lot, but talking to you guys yesterday made me want to stay here. The only times I ever want to go him is to make sure that everyone's ok and stuff like that, but seeing everyone yesterday was relieving. I thought about coming home last night and I got depressed.

Also, I'm getting used to the wildlife here. There are sooo many animals everywhere that I ended up trying to contact them:

Week 48

A FREAKEN MONKEY!!!!!! I've only been here a week and I've already seen 2 monkeys, they are the coolest things ever!!! I will make it my goal to have one on my shoulder for next week.

 So this week was super sick!!! We had a baptism at the beach Sunday before Sacrament. Her name is Jemely, she's a total boss and super funny. I only taught her 3 times so I don't know her too well, but she's awesome. This is us coming out of the water after the baptism.

The water was super cold!!! My comp is Elder Gooch, I'll be killing him, he dies the first week of February. We had a super sick Christmas party at church. Cabo Verdeans sure know how to Christmas!! They don't give everyone gifts, but they meet up twice. Once like a week before and then again the day of the party. The first time they meet up they write everybody's name in paper, then everyone picks someone blindfolded and you only give a gift to that person. It was sooo much fun opening the gifts. I've only been here a week but I got a beach towel! It was pretty awesome. Elder Gooch got a jersey with his name on it.
